My 6-month placement experience at UNICEF New York has broadened my horizon tremendously, as I was able to observe health issues in the international context, and transfer the skills that I have learned to my career. I am grateful for every learning experience provided by this programme over the past 4 years. The interdisciplinary nature of the BASc(GHD) programme provided me with great flexibility and diverse opportunities for my studies and future development. I was also able to focus on my side interests in marketing and design through the exchange programme, thanks to the abundance of free elective credits available. By selecting my own placement site for the capstone, I explored the intersection of health and marketing in a professional setting, which ultimately set me on my career path in the health-related FMCG industry. Kelvin Cheung BASc(GHD) Graduate, Class of 2023 MBBS, HKU I gained inspiration and confidence in pursuing medical training upon interning at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Headquarters in Geneva, when I saw how many world leaders in Global Health and Development had first served in vulnerable communities on the frontlines as humanitarian and healthcare volunteers prior to working at international organisations. 11 BACHELOR OF ARTS AND SCIENCES IN GLOBAL HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENT
