Boao Asia Forum: Masterminds Voice Concerns over Global Health 博鰲亞洲論壇：領袖專家聚焦全球健康挑戰 Global Outreach to Attract Talent and Foster Collaboration 全球廣納賢才促進合作 Dean Professor Chak-sing Lau (3rd from left) discusses innovative healthcare strategies for the future at the Boao Forum. 院長劉澤星教授（左三）在論壇中和其他專家探討創新的醫療策略 The 3rd Conference of Global Health Forum, jointly organised by the Boao Forum for Asia and The People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, took place in Beijing from 16-18 July 2024. Under the theme ‘Health Beyond Health – In the Year of Sustainable Development 2030’, global leaders and experts discussed the future of medical and healthcare development. Professor Chak-sing Lau, Dean of Medicine, delivered a keynote address on Hong Kong's role in the Asian health industry and participated in roundtable discussions on health technology, primary care, personalised medicine, and integrating Traditional Chinese Medicine, aiming to foster international collaboration for better health outcomes. 由博鰲亞洲論壇和北京市人民政府聯合主辦的全球健康論壇第三屆大會於 2024年7月16日至18日在北京舉行，主題為「健康無處不在――可持續發展的 2030 時代」，國際醫療健康領袖專家聚首一堂，深入探討全球醫衞的未來發展。 院長劉澤星教授於大會上發表了關於香港如何在亞洲健康產業發展中擔任重要 角色的演講，並參與多個圓桌會議，與海外專家共同探討醫療科技創新、基層 醫療、個人化醫療、中醫藥與現代醫學融合等領域，推動國際交流合作，齊心 協力改善全球健康。 HKUMed is actively recruiting talents to support its rapid global growth. Our delegations recently participated in prestigious international conferences, including the American Association for Cancer Research Annual Meeting in San Diego, the FENS (Federation of European Neuroscience Societies) Forum in Vienna, and the ESMO (European Society for Medical Oncology) Congress in Barcelona, with faculty representatives including Dean Professor Chak-sing Lau and Professor Rina Hui Yee-man, Director of the Centre of Cancer Medicine. During the networking sessions and one-on-one consultations, the HKUMed delegates connected with leading scientists, clinicians and industry practitioners. Additionally, Professor Leo Poon Lit-man, Associate Dean (Human Capital), and Professor Kelvin To Kai-wang, Assistant Dean (Academic Development), participated in recruitment events organised by the Hospital Authority in London and Manchester, attracting about 300 medical students and professionals, both in-person and online.
