Professor Lam joined the University’s former General Practice Unit as a medical officer when it was first founded in 1985. Since then, she has made tremendous contribution toward enhancing the academic capacity, research strengths and clinical services in family medicine through various leading positions. Her extensive research expertise and advocacy for primary care led to the establishment of the Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care at HKUMed in 2010. She was honoured with the Danny D B Ho Endowed Professorship in Family Medicine in 2012.
