HKUMed held an appreciation dinner on 13 March 2025 to express its gratitude to the donors of its Endowed Professorships. The event was officiated by Professor Xiang Zhang, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Gong Peng, Vice-President & Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic Development), and Professor Chak-sing Lau, Vice-President & Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Health) and Dean of Medicine. The attending donors and HKUMed staff enjoyed a warm and cordial atmosphere during the evening. The University of Hong Kong established the Endowed Professorships Scheme in 2005. Since its inception, the Scheme has become one of the most significant awards bestowed upon eminent academics within the University in support of their academic and research activities. Over 120 Endowed Professorships have been established at HKU, with more than half of them at HKUMed. Additionally, the University has established the Outstanding Young Professorships, which are designated for outstanding assistant professors or associate professors, further reinforcing HKU’s dedication to fostering the next generation of academic leaders. 醫學院於2025年3月13日舉行明德教授席感謝宴，邀請醫學院「明德教授席」的捐贈者參加， 並由港大校長張翔教授、副校長（學術發展）宮鵬教授及副校長（健康）兼醫學院院長劉澤星教授 主禮，親向捐贈者表達由衷的謝意。出席的捐贈者與醫學院教職員相談甚歡，氣氛熱鬧融洽。 香港大學自2005年起設立「明德教授席」，在捐贈者選定的學術範疇成立冠名的永久教授席， 支持冠名教授的教研工作。「明德教授席」設立以來，已成為大學授予校内學者的崇高榮譽， 至今共設有逾120席，其中醫學院更獲得超過一半席位。港大更設有「傑出青年教授席」，授予 助理教授或副教授，展示大學對培育出類拔萃的青年學者的承諾和決心。 An Evening of Gratitude: Endowed Professorship 明德教授席感謝宴 For the list of Endowed Professorships 明德教授席名單 17 HKUMed News Summer 2025
