Co-organised by HKUMed and the Hong Kong Subsidized Secondary Schools Council, with support from the Association of Principals of Government Secondary Schools, the Grant Schools Council Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Direct Subsidy Scheme Schools Council, the first-ever ‘Hong Kong InnoHealth Cup’ encouraged secondary students to apply smart big data to solving realworld medical challenges. The competition, themed ‘AI and Big Data’, received an enthusiastic response, with 130 teams from 90 schools across Hong Kong submitting proposals. The opening ceremony and the preliminary poster showcase expo were successfully held on 12 April 2025, backed by the full support of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government and the Education Bureau. Over 500 teachers and students gathered on the day at the HKUMed campus, where competing teams presented their innovative ideas – ranging from AI-assisted diagnoses to data-driven disease prevention – to a panel of professors from HKUMed through meticulously designed academic posters. Their creativity was highly praised by the judging panel.
