I participated in this award to highlight our commitment to bridging significant service gaps for paediatric patients with neuromuscular diseases. This is achieved through establishing effective diagnostic and treatment pathways, integrating research into practice, and developing protocols for optimal outcomes. For our programme, excellence is reflected in significant improved survival, motor function, and quality of life for our patients and families, as well as in providing cuttingedge therapies, including gene therapies. True clinical excellence, to us, is a continuous journey that combines innovation and translational research, empathy, and teamwork to provide the best care for our patients and families.’ ‘I am deeply honoured to receive this award on behalf of our entire Stroke Team, whose dedication made 24/7 acute stroke care a reality. This recognises our efforts and helps raise awareness that in stroke care, every second and effort count. It is fulfilling to make an immediate impact by removing a clot and restoring brain function. This award motivates our pursuit of excellence, which also relies on our partners: the Accident and Emergency team, Neurologist and Stroke Nurses, Radiologists and Radiographers, Anaesthetists and Operation Theatre Nurses, and the Rehabilitation team.
