This summer, the School of Public Health hosted the inaugural three-week programme titled ‘Institute of Philanthropy Medical and Health Scholarship-cum-Fellowship for Top Talent in the Mainland: Interdisciplinary and Composite Talents in Medicine, Disease Prevention and Control, and Management Training Programme’ for senior management officials from the national healthcare system. The programme aimed to enhance collaboration in healthcare to support the nation’s long-term public health development. 今年夏天,公共衞生學院為國家衞生健康系統的高級管理人員,舉辦了首屆為期三周的「公益慈善研究院國家衞生健康高端人才獎 學金項目―醫防管交叉複合型戰略人才短期研修班」。活動旨在促進雙方在醫療衞生領域的交流合作,共同為國家衞生健康事業的 長遠發展作出貢獻。 The Hong Kong Jockey Club Global Health Institute (HKJCGHI), a collaboration between HKU, the University of Cambridge (UCAM) and the International Vaccine Institute (IVI), celebrated a significant milestone on 17 October 2025 with the unveiling of its headquarters and a cutting-edge joint laboratory with UCAM located at HKUMed. This landmark event embodies HKJCGHI’s mission to advance global health through innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration to create powerful international impact. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, the joint laboratory will focus primarily on characterising immune responses to vaccines developed by the Institute, while also supporting broader research initiatives aimed at enhancing vaccine development.
