Professor Yuen Kwok-Yung, Henry Fok Professor in Infectious Diseases and Chair of Infectious Diseases at the Department of Microbiology, School of Clinical Medicine, delivered a special lecture, titled ‘How to Study in Preclinical Years: Personal Experience’, to MBBS freshmen. The lecture also included a photo session and book signing for Professor Yuen’s memoir, My Life in Medicine: A Hong Kong Journey. 臨床醫學學院微生物學系傳染病學講座教授兼霍英東基金教授（傳染病學）袁國勇教授，為醫科新生主持題為《如何在基礎醫學階段學習： 個人經驗分享》的特別講座。當日亦設有簽書環節，袁教授為其回憶錄《顯微鏡下看穹蒼：袁國勇自述》親筆簽名，並與學生合照留念。 HKUMed has partnered with Queen Mary Hospital to revamp its traditional attachment programme to inspire future medical professionals through hospital visits and early exposure to clinical and surgical knowledge and skills. The enhanced curriculum integrates key elements from the HKUMed Institute for Youth (Medify) Summer Programme―interactive taster sessions, problem-based learning workshops, doctor-shadowing opportunities, hall life activities and a formal High Table Dinner. Structured as an intensive five-day placement delivered across six summer rounds, this year’s programme welcomed 368 secondary school students. 醫學院聯乘瑪麗醫院舉辦暑期實習課程，透過醫院參觀及早期接觸臨床與外 科知識與技能，啟發未來醫療專業人才。全新課程融合了HKUMed Medify 暑期課程的核心元素――包括互動體驗講座、問題導向學習（PBL）工作坊、 醫生影子實習、宿舍生活體驗及高桌晚宴。課程為期五天，分六期進行， 今年共有368名中學生參與。 On Registration Day 2025, the Student Wellness Team welcomed incoming freshmen for the 2025/26 academic year on HKUMed campus. More than 780 students visited the booths to learn about the wellness services and upcoming workshops and events. Welcome packs with stress balls and postcards were distributed to encourage students to prioritise their well-being. 10 Peer Supporters also shared their experiences at HKUMed and offered the newcomers helpful insights into campus life. 於2025年註冊日，學生心理健 康團隊於校園迎接2025/26學 年新生。逾780位同學到訪， 了解學院的心理健康服務和即 將舉辦的工作坊及活動。團隊 派發了含減壓球及宣傳卡的迎 新包，以鼓勵同學關注身心健 康。10位朋輩支援者亦分享作 為醫學院學生的經驗，並為新 生提供實用的校園生活建議。 02/09/2025 Special Lecture and Book Signing by Professor Yuen Kwok-Yung 袁國勇教授特別講座暨新書簽名會 The inaugural Hong Kong InnoHealth Cup, co-organised by HKUMed and the Hong Kong Subsidized Secondary Schools Council, attracted participation from 131 schools, including over 500 students and teachers. Centred on the theme ‘AI & Big Data for Health’, the event challenged participants to develop innovative solutions to pressing health issues. The team from Kowloon True Light School claimed the championship with their project ‘Next Generation AI Driven Peptide Therapeutics: EGFR/BRAF Inhibitory Peptides for Lung Cancer Therapy’. St. Paul’s Convent School secured second place, and King’s College took third.
